What this covers

Kitchens

Circuits for the range, the dishwasher, the disposal and the microwave, counter receptacles where you'll actually use them, and under-cabinet and ceiling lighting.

Bathrooms and laundry rooms

Protected receptacles, the fan, the lighting and the circuits for a laundry or a heated floor.

Basements and attics

Turning unfinished space into a room: lighting, receptacles and a circuit plan for how the room will be used.

Additions and ADUs

The wiring for an addition, an attached ADU or a detached one, including the feeder and subpanel that serve it.

Garages, shops and outbuildings at a home

Lighting and receptacles for a garage or shop, 240-volt circuits for tools, and circuits for a well or septic pump on the home's property. Shops and outbuildings must belong to the home and serve the household.

Working with your contractor

If a remodeler or a builder is running your project, we work as their electrical contractor and fit around the other trades. If Washington Construction, our general contracting side, is running it, the electrical stays with us whenever our crew's calendar allows. For the rest of a remodel, see Washington Construction's remodeling page.

Older wiring found during a remodel

Opening walls in an older house sometimes turns up wiring that needs attention: ungrounded circuits, aluminum branch wiring, or splices without a box. When we find something like that, we show you, explain the options and put any added work in a signed change order before doing it.

Questions people ask

Can you work from my designer's plans?

Yes. Send the plans or a sketch, and we'll go over the circuits and fixtures with you at the site visit.

Do I need a subpanel for my ADU?

Usually an ADU is fed by its own feeder and subpanel, and sometimes by its own service. It depends on the ADU and your main panel. We look at both at the visit.

Will you do just the electrical while I manage the rest?

Yes. Owner-builders and homeowners managing their own remodel hire us for the electrical alone.
