What this covers

Service and main panel

The service entrance, the meter base and the main panel, sized for the house and what's going in it.

Rough-in

Boxes, circuits and wiring through the framing, laid out from your plans and a walkthrough with you, before insulation and drywall.

Trim-out

Devices, fixtures, the panel's labels and the final connections to the appliances and equipment.

Circuits for what's coming

Room for an EV charger, a heat pump, a heat-pump water heater, a generator inlet and a shop, planned in from the start, when it's easiest.

Outdoor circuits

Outdoor receptacles and lighting for the entries, the deck and the path to a detached garage or shop.

How we fit into a build

  1. Plans and a walkthrough

We go over the plans, the panel location and the fixture layout with you.

  2. Written scope

Every circuit and device listed, so you can compare and decide.

  3. Rough-in

After framing, coordinated with you around the other trades' rough-ins.

  4. Trim-out

After drywall and paint, with the fixtures and devices you've chosen.

  5. Walkthrough

We walk it with you, show you the labeled panel and hand over the documents.

Owner-builders

Building your own home? We do the electrical while you run the project, and we keep our scope and any changes in writing, which helps with a construction loan's draws. If you want help running the whole build, see Washington Construction's owner-builder project management, and for a full custom home, custom homes.

Questions people ask

When should I call you on a new build?

As early as you have plans. The service size, the panel location and any EV, heat-pump or generator circuits are easiest to settle before framing.

Do you work for builders as a subcontractor?

Yes. See builders and trade partners for what we need from you and how to send a job.

Can you wire an ADU or a detached garage at the same time?

Yes. A detached ADU, garage or shop on the same property can be part of the same scope. See remodel and ADU wiring.
